US Patent Issued to CJ Socket Technologies for “Adjustable Prosthetic Limb Socket”

ALEXANDRIA, VA, February 3, 2015 — United States Patent no. 8,945,237, issued on February 3, was assigned to CJ Socket Technologies Inc. (Beverly, Massachusetts).

“Adjustable prosthetic limb socket” was invented by Keith D. Cornell (Plaistow, New Hampshire).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: “The present relates to an adjustable prosthetic limb socket system having a partial rigid support, a non-elastic, flexible support and adjustment means. The adjustable socket system of the present invention can be used for several types of amputations including transfemoral amputations, transtibial amputations, transhumeral amputations, transradial amputations, and other types of amputations.
